Before you appoint a marine surveyor
What information is needed for a French Polynesia marine survey?
Provide vessel particulars, exact island, marina, pass, anchorage or yard, survey purpose and deadline, local contact, report recipient and any haul-out, trial or specialist requirement.
Is a private survey a DPAM safety visit?
No. The Direction Polynésienne des Affaires Maritimes administers registration and official vessel-safety procedures. A private survey for a buyer, insurer, lender or owner is separate.
Can registration require a safety visit?
Yes in relevant cases. DPAM states that vessel activity and conformity can determine the safety regime and that a navigation permit for a professional vessel requires a safety visit. Confirm the current vessel-specific route.
Can a surveyor attend a remote archipelago?
Potentially. Flights or ships, accommodation, local transfers, pass conditions, communications and repeat attendance should be priced for the exact island.
Where can a yacht be hauled out?
Most substantial yacht-service options are around Tahiti and Raiatea. Lift capacity, beam, displacement, rig and booking must be confirmed directly.
Are inter-island travel and yard fees included?
Only if listed. Flights, ferries, cargo passages, accommodation, launches, lift, wash, relaunch and testing can be separate.

Potentially. Supply construction, conformity, import and ownership documents and state whether the report is private or intended for DPAM, customs, flag, insurer or lender review.
