What details are needed for a Tonga marine survey?

Is a private survey a Marine & Ports Division survey?
No. The Marine & Ports Division is Tonga’s maritime administration and carries out official maritime-safety and flag-state functions. A private survey is separate.
Can registration require survey and tonnage documents?
Tonga’s registration regulations provide for tonnage and current survey documentation in applicable cases. Confirm the accepted surveyor and documents with the Marine & Ports Division before appointment.
Can a surveyor attend Vavaʻu or Haʻapai?
Potentially. Flights or inter-island vessels, local transfer, accommodation, weather and repeat attendance should be priced for the exact island group.
Can a survey include a whale-watch or passenger boat?
Potentially. State the operating licence, passenger capacity, insurer and required authority or client standard so suitable commercial expertise can be checked.
Are inter-island travel and haul-out costs included?
Only if listed. Flights, vessels, accommodation, launches, slipway or lift, wash, relaunch and testing can be separate.
