One request, matched to the actual job

How it works

A practical route from request to inspection

The platform helps structure the enquiry and introduce suitable professionals. The selected surveyor remains responsible for agreeing scope, fee and terms with you.

1

Tell us about the yacht

Share the vessel, survey purpose, location, timing and any buyer or registry deadline.

2

We review the scope

We check geography, material, size, specialist needs and whether formal acceptance matters.

3

Receive a suitable introduction

Where available, we connect you with a surveyor whose stated capability fits the assignment.

4

Appoint independently

You compare the scope and terms, resolve conflicts and instruct the professional directly.

Important distinction

Professional membership is not automatic flag approval

For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

China marine survey locations

Plan the survey around China’s coasts and waterways

China’s coastline contains many separate port administrations, yacht markets and shipbuilding centres. The province, city, facility, local host and reporting line must be precise; controlled yards and ports can restrict visitors, devices, photographs and document access.

Greater Bay Area

Shenzhen · Guangzhou · Zhuhai · Guangdong coast

Identify the marina or shipyard and a Chinese-speaking host. Confirm visitor registration, device and photography rules, haul-out capacity and whether movement between cities is required.

Find a surveyor in this region

Shanghai, Zhejiang & Jiangsu

Shanghai · Ningbo · Zhoushan · Jiangsu yards

The region includes large commercial yards and smaller marinas. State the construction or repair milestone, drawings access, responsible yard contact and transport plan.

Find a surveyor in this region

Hainan

Sanya · Haikou · Hainan marinas and yards

Confirm marina or yard, berth, local-language contact and lift booking. Seasonal weather, events and island travel can affect availability.

Find a surveyor in this region

Fujian & southeast coast

Xiamen · Fuzhou · Quanzhou · Fujian yards

Give the facility rather than only the city. Commercial-yard access, local transport and any separate sea-trial or delivery location should be agreed in advance.

Find a surveyor in this region

Bohai & northern coast

Qingdao · Tianjin · Dalian · Shandong and Liaoning

Plan long-distance travel between northern port clusters separately. Confirm winter conditions, yard security, vessel status and whether a follow-up visit is likely.

Frequently asked questions

Before you appoint a marine surveyor

What information is needed for a marine survey in China?

Provide vessel particulars, province, city and exact facility, survey purpose and deadline, Chinese-speaking host, intended report recipient and requirements for haul-out, trials, drawings or specialist testing.

Is a private condition survey an official Chinese vessel inspection?

No. The China Maritime Safety Administration and its regional administrations oversee vessel registration and maritime safety functions. A buyer, insurer or owner survey is separate.

Can any surveyor perform registration or statutory work?

No. The competent MSA, flag administration, classification society or accepting body must confirm the appointed organisation, survey scope and certificates required.

What access information does a Chinese shipyard need?

The yard or local host should confirm visitor registration, passport details, invitation or approval, safety induction, protective equipment, device and photography rules and document access.

Is Chinese-language support required?

It is often important for access, technical discussions and records. State whether the owner, broker, builder or yard will provide an appropriately technical bilingual contact.

Are domestic travel and yard charges included?

Only if the quotation says so. Flights or rail, accommodation, local transport, passes, lift, wash, relaunch, trials and specialist testing can be separate.

Can you help with new-build and specialist work in China?

Potentially. Construction supervision, specification review, stage inspections, repair monitoring, machinery, ultrasound and delivery acceptance require the correct technical specialist and agreed reporting access.

Prefer to speak with us?

Start with the right China survey scope.

Tell us the vessel, exact Chinese location and reason for the survey. We can help clarify access, travel and report requirements before you request an introduction.
