One request, matched to the actual job

How it works

A practical route from request to inspection

The platform helps structure the enquiry and introduce suitable professionals. The selected surveyor remains responsible for agreeing scope, fee and terms with you.

1

Tell us about the yacht

Share the vessel, survey purpose, location, timing and any buyer or registry deadline.

2

We review the scope

We check geography, material, size, specialist needs and whether formal acceptance matters.

3

Receive a suitable introduction

Where available, we connect you with a surveyor whose stated capability fits the assignment.

4

Appoint independently

You compare the scope and terms, resolve conflicts and instruct the professional directly.

Important distinction

Professional membership is not automatic flag approval

For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

Bangladesh marine survey locations

Plan the survey around Bangladesh’s coasts and waterways

Bangladesh combines major seaports, a dense inland-waterway network and shipbuilding and repair yards. Road and launch travel, tides, monsoon conditions, yard permission and the responsible local operator must be confirmed for the actual site.

Chattogram & Sitakunda

Chattogram · Karnaphuli River · Sitakunda yards

Identify the terminal, anchorage or yard and local agent. Commercial-port and industrial-yard attendance requires advance permission, safety induction and agreed equipment entry.

Mongla, Khulna & southwest

Mongla · Khulna · Rupsha and Pashur waterways

Confirm road or launch transfer, tide and berth conditions, facility contact and whether the vessel can be safely inspected afloat or ashore.

Dhaka & Narayanganj waterways

Dhaka · Narayanganj · Buriganga and Shitalakshya rivers

Give the precise ghat, yard or mooring and a local contact who can guide access. Congestion, river level and movement schedules may affect the inspection window.

Barishal, Chandpur & Meghna

Barishal · Chandpur · Meghna delta routes

Inland attendance can require combined road and boat travel. Confirm vessel itinerary, safe boarding, accommodation and any repeat visit after repairs.

Cox’s Bazar & southeast coast

Cox’s Bazar · Teknaf · southeast fishing harbours

State the harbour or beaching site, craft type, tide and slipway arrangements. Remote access and seasonal weather should be built into the plan.

Frequently asked questions

Before you appoint a marine surveyor

What details are needed for a Bangladesh marine survey quote?

Provide vessel particulars, exact river, port, yard or berth, survey purpose and deadline, local agent or operator, access route and any haul-out, trial, machinery or specialist requirement.

Is a private condition survey an official Bangladesh vessel survey?

No. The Department of Shipping administers statutory registration and survey functions. A buyer, insurer, lender or owner survey is a separate private assignment.

How are inland vessels surveyed and registered?

Bangladesh’s published inland-shipping framework requires applicable inland ships to be surveyed and registered. Department of Shipping registration and survey offices conduct new-build registration and annual survey; the relevant office must confirm the current procedure.

Can one surveyor cover Chattogram and inland-waterway locations?

Potentially, but each river, yard and seaport needs separate travel and access planning. Quote launch transfers, road travel, accommodation and follow-up attendance explicitly.

Are port access and yard charges included?

Only if listed in the written quotation. Agent support, passes, launches, travel, accommodation, docking, slipway or lift, wash, relaunch and specialist testing can be separate.

How do monsoon and river conditions affect a survey?

Weather, current, river level and tidal access can restrict boarding, underwater inspection and trials. The vessel operator and surveyor should agree a safe window and contingency.

Can you help with new-build, commercial or specialist work?

Potentially. Shipbuilding supervision, repair monitoring, damage, machinery, ultrasound, cargo and on-hire or off-hire surveys require the right expertise and any formal acceptance.
