What details are needed for a Bangladesh marine survey quote?
Provide vessel particulars, exact river, port, yard or berth, survey purpose and deadline, local agent or operator, access route and any haul-out, trial, machinery or specialist requirement.
Is a private condition survey an official Bangladesh vessel survey?
No. The Department of Shipping administers statutory registration and survey functions. A buyer, insurer, lender or owner survey is a separate private assignment.
How are inland vessels surveyed and registered?
Bangladesh’s published inland-shipping framework requires applicable inland ships to be surveyed and registered. Department of Shipping registration and survey offices conduct new-build registration and annual survey; the relevant office must confirm the current procedure.
Can one surveyor cover Chattogram and inland-waterway locations?
Potentially, but each river, yard and seaport needs separate travel and access planning. Quote launch transfers, road travel, accommodation and follow-up attendance explicitly.
Are port access and yard charges included?
Only if listed in the written quotation. Agent support, passes, launches, travel, accommodation, docking, slipway or lift, wash, relaunch and specialist testing can be separate.
How do monsoon and river conditions affect a survey?
Weather, current, river level and tidal access can restrict boarding, underwater inspection and trials. The vessel operator and surveyor should agree a safe window and contingency.

Potentially. Shipbuilding supervision, repair monitoring, damage, machinery, ultrasound, cargo and on-hire or off-hire surveys require the right expertise and any formal acceptance.
