Independent marine surveyor matching
Marine surveys across Cambodia

Find the right marine surveyor for your boat in Cambodia

Request an independent marine surveyor for a yacht, tourist boat, river vessel, fishing craft or commercial assignment in Cambodia. Matching starts with the exact coastal port, island, river berth or yard, vessel and survey purpose, Khmer-language coordination, access and haul-out plan and whether the work is private or part of a Ministry of Public Works and Transport process.

One request, matched to the actual job

How it works

A practical route from request to inspection

The platform helps structure the enquiry and introduce suitable professionals. The selected surveyor remains responsible for agreeing scope, fee and terms with you.

1

Tell us about the yacht

Share the vessel, survey purpose, location, timing and any buyer or registry deadline.

2

We review the scope

We check geography, material, size, specialist needs and whether formal acceptance matters.

3

Receive a suitable introduction

Where available, we connect you with a surveyor whose stated capability fits the assignment.

4

Appoint independently

You compare the scope and terms, resolve conflicts and instruct the professional directly.

Important distinction

Professional membership is not automatic flag approval

For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

Cambodia marine survey locations

Plan the survey around Cambodia’s coasts and waterways

Cambodia combines the Sihanoukville coast and islands with extensive Mekong and Tonlé Sap waterways. Yard and lift capability vary, so the exact landing point, local operator, vessel movement and official purpose must be confirmed.

Sihanoukville & coastal yards

Sihanoukville · Ream · coastal marinas and yards

Differentiate marina or tourism-vessel work from controlled commercial-port access. Confirm the facility, local host, lift or slipway and working hours.

Koh Rong & coastal islands

Koh Rong · Koh Rong Samloem · island anchorages

State the island, transfer point and safe boarding method. Weather, accommodation and the absence of local haul-out may require a separate plan.

Find a surveyor in this region

Phnom Penh & Mekong

Phnom Penh · Mekong · Bassac River

Provide the river berth or landing, local operator and vessel itinerary. Traffic, river level and bridge or draft constraints can affect trials and movement.

Find a surveyor in this region

Tonlé Sap & inland waterways

Siem Reap area · Tonlé Sap · Kampong Chhnang

Seasonal water level and remote access are central. Confirm the actual harbour or floating location, launch transfer and safe inspection area.

Kampot, Kep & southwest

Kampot · Kep · southwest coastal and river sites

State whether the vessel is at a river berth, beach, marina or yard. Tidal and road access, lifting and follow-up repairs should be checked locally.

Frequently asked questions

Before you appoint a marine surveyor

What information is needed for a Cambodia marine survey?

Send vessel particulars, exact port, island, river berth or yard, survey purpose and deadline, Khmer-speaking contact, access or transfer plan and any haul-out, trial or specialist requirement.

Is a private survey an official Cambodian technical inspection?

No. Cambodia’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport is the competent waterway transport authority, and the legal framework covers vessel registration and technical inspection. A buyer or insurer survey is separate.

Can any surveyor complete registration or statutory work?

No assumption should be made. The Ministry or accepting authority must confirm the appointed inspector, applicable category, forms and certificates.

Can a surveyor attend an island or Tonlé Sap location?

Potentially, subject to transport, weather and water level. The quotation should identify transfers, accommodation, safe boarding and whether the vessel can move to a suitable inspection site.

Is Khmer-language support required?

It is often useful for local operators, port or provincial officials and technical records. State who will provide bilingual coordination.

Are travel, boat transfers and haul-out included?

Only if listed in the quotation. Road travel, launches, accommodation, permits, slipway or lift, wash, relaunch and specialist testing can be separate.

Can you help with tourist boats and specialist work?

Potentially. Tourist-vessel condition, damage, machinery, repair monitoring, ultrasound and commercial assignments require the right experience and any formal acceptance.
