What details are needed for a Brunei marine survey quote?
Provide vessel particulars, exact marina, port, river berth or facility, survey purpose and deadline, local sponsor or operator, report recipient and any haul-out, trial or specialist requirement.
Is a private condition survey an MPABD inspection?
No. The Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam administers boat and ship registration and statutory maritime functions. A buyer, insurer or owner survey is separate.
Must boats be registered in Brunei?
MPABD’s published boat-registration guide states that a boat must be registered with the Authority before use. The owner should confirm the current category, inspection and document requirements directly.
Can any surveyor complete Brunei flag or statutory work?
No. MPABD or the accepting body must confirm the appointed surveyor or organization, survey scope and certificate required for the vessel.
Can a surveyor enter a controlled industrial facility?
Potentially, with sponsor and operator approval. Arrange identification, passes, safety induction, protective equipment and equipment or photography clearance before attendance.
Are port access and haul-out included?
Only where listed in the quotation. Agent support, passes, local travel, lift or slipway, wash, relaunch, skipper, fuel and specialist testing can be separate.
