One request, matched to the actual job

How it works

A practical route from request to inspection

The platform helps structure the enquiry and introduce suitable professionals. The selected surveyor remains responsible for agreeing scope, fee and terms with you.

1

Tell us about the yacht

Share the vessel, survey purpose, location, timing and any buyer or registry deadline.

2

We review the scope

We check geography, material, size, specialist needs and whether formal acceptance matters.

3

Receive a suitable introduction

Where available, we connect you with a surveyor whose stated capability fits the assignment.

4

Appoint independently

You compare the scope and terms, resolve conflicts and instruct the professional directly.

Important distinction

Professional membership is not automatic flag approval

For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

Uruguay marine survey locations

Plan the survey around Uruguay’s coasts and waterways

Uruguay combines sheltered river marinas with exposed Atlantic ports. Give the exact club, marina, berth or yard because travel, lifting, water conditions and authority arrangements vary across a compact but diverse coast.

Montevideo & nearby marinas

Montevideo · Buceo · Santiago Vázquez

Distinguish yacht-club or marina work from commercial-port access. Confirm club permission, lift capacity and trial route.

Punta del Este & Maldonado

Punta del Este · Piriápolis · Maldonado coast

Seasonal congestion, Atlantic swell and yard schedules can affect timing. Confirm berth and haul-out reservation.

Find a surveyor in this region

Colonia & west coast

Colonia del Sacramento · Carmelo · Nueva Palmira

River level, current and cross-border vessel movements can affect trials. State the exact marina or commercial terminal.

Rocha & Atlantic east

La Paloma · Cabo Polonio area · Chuy coast

Exposed harbours and limited lifting require direct facility and weather confirmation.

Uruguay River & inland waters

Fray Bentos · Paysandú · Salto · inland clubs

Inland attendance needs road planning and the precise club, ramp or yard. Confirm whether the boat can be presented ashore.

Frequently asked questions

Before you appoint a marine surveyor

What information is needed for a Uruguay marine survey?

Provide vessel particulars, exact club, marina, port or yard, survey purpose and deadline, local contact, report recipient and any haul-out, trial or specialist requirement.

Is a private survey a Prefectura Nacional Naval inspection?

No. Prefectura Nacional Naval and its registry and merchant-marine functions administer official registration and inspection. A private buyer, insurer, lender or owner survey is separate.

Can a foreign-flag leisure boat be inspected officially?

Uruguay’s published rules allow the maritime authority to inspect foreign leisure craft in specified circumstances. The competent Prefectura must confirm the current requirement.

Can one surveyor cover Montevideo and eastern Uruguay?

Potentially. Road travel, seasonal traffic, yard schedules and any repeat attendance should be included in the quotation.

How do river and Atlantic conditions change the scope?

River current, shallow water, Atlantic swell and wind affect trial and haul-out planning. The inspection window should suit the actual location.

Are club, yard and travel costs included?

Only if stated. Club access, travel, lift, wash, relaunch, mast handling, skipper and testing can be separate.

Can you help with fishing and commercial craft?

Potentially. Fishing vessels, damage, machinery, cargo and on-hire or off-hire work require suitable expertise and any authority, flag, class or client acceptance.
