Pre-purchase survey
Independent condition inspection before you commit, with defects, priorities and practical next steps.
Request this survey
Request an independent marine surveyor for a yacht, motorboat, fishing vessel or commercial assignment in Uruguay. Matching starts with the exact marina, river, port or yard, vessel and survey purpose, Spanish-language coordination, haul-out and trial plan and whether the work is private or must satisfy Prefectura Nacional Naval, insurer, lender, flag or class.
A pre-purchase inspection is not the same assignment as a tonnage measurement or commercial-code survey. We keep the scope clear from the beginning.

For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

No. Prefectura Nacional Naval and its registry and merchant-marine functions administer official registration and inspection. A private buyer, insurer, lender or owner survey is separate.
Uruguay’s published rules allow the maritime authority to inspect foreign leisure craft in specified circumstances. The competent Prefectura must confirm the current requirement.
Potentially. Road travel, seasonal traffic, yard schedules and any repeat attendance should be included in the quotation.
River current, shallow water, Atlantic swell and wind affect trial and haul-out planning. The inspection window should suit the actual location.
Only if stated. Club access, travel, lift, wash, relaunch, mast handling, skipper and testing can be separate.
Potentially. Fishing vessels, damage, machinery, cargo and on-hire or off-hire work require suitable expertise and any authority, flag, class or client acceptance.
Choose the country where the vessel is located, or send the exact port, marina or yard so the assignment can be reviewed.
Tell us the vessel, exact Uruguayan location and reason for the survey. We can help clarify access, travel and report requirements before you request an introduction.
