What information is needed for a Uruguay marine survey?
Provide vessel particulars, exact club, marina, port or yard, survey purpose and deadline, local contact, report recipient and any haul-out, trial or specialist requirement.
Is a private survey a Prefectura Nacional Naval inspection?
No. Prefectura Nacional Naval and its registry and merchant-marine functions administer official registration and inspection. A private buyer, insurer, lender or owner survey is separate.
Can a foreign-flag leisure boat be inspected officially?
Uruguay’s published rules allow the maritime authority to inspect foreign leisure craft in specified circumstances. The competent Prefectura must confirm the current requirement.
Can one surveyor cover Montevideo and eastern Uruguay?
Potentially. Road travel, seasonal traffic, yard schedules and any repeat attendance should be included in the quotation.
How do river and Atlantic conditions change the scope?
River current, shallow water, Atlantic swell and wind affect trial and haul-out planning. The inspection window should suit the actual location.
