Find the right marine surveyor for your boat in Ecuador

Request an independent marine surveyor for a yacht, fishing craft, workboat, passenger vessel or commercial assignment in Ecuador. Matching starts with the exact mainland port, river, marina or Galápagos island, vessel and survey purpose, Spanish-language and local-agent support, haul-out plan and whether the work is private or must satisfy DIRNEA, insurer, lender, flag or class.

One request, matched to the actual job

How it works

A practical route from request to inspection

The platform helps structure the enquiry and introduce suitable professionals. The selected surveyor remains responsible for agreeing scope, fee and terms with you.

1

Tell us about the yacht

Share the vessel, survey purpose, location, timing and any buyer or registry deadline.

2

We review the scope

We check geography, material, size, specialist needs and whether formal acceptance matters.

3

Receive a suitable introduction

Where available, we connect you with a surveyor whose stated capability fits the assignment.

4

Appoint independently

You compare the scope and terms, resolve conflicts and instruct the professional directly.

Important distinction

Professional membership is not automatic flag approval

For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

Plan the survey around Ecuador’s coasts and waterways

Ecuador’s principal ship and yacht activity is spread between the Guayaquil estuary, mainland Pacific ports and the tightly controlled Galápagos region. Exact berth, capitanía, operator and inspection facility are essential.

Frequently asked questions

Before you appoint a marine surveyor

What information is needed for an Ecuador marine survey?

Provide vessel particulars, exact port, river, marina or Galápagos island, survey purpose and deadline, local contact, report recipient and any haul-out, trial or specialist requirement.

Is a private survey a DIRNEA inspection?

No. Dirección Nacional de los Espacios Acuáticos is Ecuador’s maritime authority and manages vessel registration, inspection and certification. A private survey is separate.

Does DIRNEA inspect Ecuadorian vessels?

Yes. DIRNEA publishes rules for inspections and audits of Ecuadorian vessels and operates vessel registration, inspection and certification services. The current official scope must be confirmed.

Can a surveyor attend the Galápagos?

Potentially, but national-park, maritime, entry, inter-island and local access permissions must be confirmed before travel.

Is Spanish-language support necessary?

It is important for authorities, ports, yards and records. A foreign report recipient may also require English or bilingual reporting.

Are island travel and yard costs included?

Only if stated. Flights, launches, accommodation, agent support, lift, wash, relaunch and testing can be separate.

Can you help with fishing, passenger and commercial vessels?

Potentially. These assignments require suitable vessel experience and any DIRNEA, flag, class, insurer or client acceptance.
