Before you appoint a marine surveyor
What details are needed for an Argentina marine survey?
Provide vessel particulars, exact river kilometre, marina, port or yard, survey purpose and deadline, local contact, report recipient and any haul-out, trial or specialist requirement.
Is a private survey a Prefectura Naval Argentina inspection?
No. Prefectura Naval Argentina is the national maritime authority and administers vessel registration and technical safety inspections. A private survey is separate.
Who controls statutory vessel safety in Argentina?
The current REGINAVE names Prefectura Naval Argentina as the implementing authority. Prefectura must confirm any statutory inspection, recognized-organization or certificate requirement.
Can one surveyor cover Buenos Aires and Patagonia?
Potentially, but they are separate mobilizations. Flights or long road travel, accommodation, weather and repeat attendance should be quoted explicitly.
Is Spanish-language reporting required?
It depends on the recipient. Spanish is important for local authorities and facilities, while an insurer, lender or foreign buyer may request English or bilingual reporting.
Are club, yard and travel costs included?
Only if stated. Marina or club access, travel, lift, wash, relaunch, mast handling, skipper and testing can be separate.
