What information is needed for a Belize marine survey?
Provide vessel particulars, exact cay, marina, anchorage, mainland yard or river, survey purpose and deadline, local contact, report recipient and any haul-out, trial or specialist requirement.
Is a private survey a Belize Port Authority inspection?
No. The Belize Port Authority registers and licenses vessels operating in Belizean waters and issues seaworthiness documentation. A private survey is separate.
What is the difference between BPA and IMMARBE?
The Belize Port Authority handles domestic vessel registration, licensing and safety functions, while IMMARBE administers Belize’s international merchant-ship registry. Confirm the applicable route for the vessel.
Does Belize registration require a survey or tonnage measurement?
Belize’s merchant-ship registration law provides for appointed surveyors to survey and measure ships after provisional registration. The registry must confirm the current vessel-specific requirement.
Can a surveyor attend an outer cay?
Potentially. Boat or air transfer, accommodation, reef and weather conditions and safe boarding should be priced for the exact cay.
Are transfers and haul-out costs included?
Only if stated. Flights, boats, accommodation, marina access, lift, wash, relaunch, skipper and testing can be separate.
Can you help with catamarans and specialist work?
Potentially. Multihulls, fishing craft, damage, machinery, rig, ultrasound and repair monitoring require suitable experience and facility access.
