One request, matched to the actual job

A pre-purchase inspection is not the same assignment as a tonnage measurement or commercial-code survey. We keep the scope clear from the beginning.

How it works

A practical route from request to inspection

The platform helps structure the enquiry and introduce suitable professionals. The selected surveyor remains responsible for agreeing scope, fee and terms with you.

1

Tell us about the yacht

Share the vessel, survey purpose, location, timing and any buyer or registry deadline.

2

We review the scope

We check geography, material, size, specialist needs and whether formal acceptance matters.

3

Receive a suitable introduction

Where available, we connect you with a surveyor whose stated capability fits the assignment.

4

Appoint independently

You compare the scope and terms, resolve conflicts and instruct the professional directly.

Important distinction

Professional membership is not automatic flag approval

For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

Plan the survey around Senegal’s coasts and waterways

Dakar is the principal maritime centre, while Saint-Louis, the Petite Côte and Casamance involve different travel, harbour and lifting conditions. Identify the precise berth or landing and formal report recipient.

Frequently asked questions

Before you appoint a marine surveyor

What details are needed for a Senegal marine survey?

Provide vessel particulars, exact harbour, yard, landing or offshore site, survey purpose and deadline, local agent or operator, access plan and intended report recipient.

Is a private survey an ANAM technical inspection?

No. ANAM administers vessel registration, technical inspection and navigation documents. A private buyer, insurer, lender or owner survey is separate.

Does ANAM cover pleasure craft as well as commercial vessels?

ANAM states that it follows registration and technical inspection for fishing, commercial, pleasure and service craft. The current official procedure must be confirmed for the vessel.

Is French-language support useful?

Yes. French is important for authorities, ports, yards and records, and local-language support may also help at fishing or secondary harbours.

Can a surveyor travel outside Dakar?

Potentially. Domestic flights or road travel, launches, accommodation and weather contingency should be priced for the exact location.

Are lift, travel and port costs included?

Only if stated. Agent support, passes, travel, lift or slipway, wash, relaunch, skipper and testing can be separate.

Can you help with pirogues, fishing and offshore vessels?

Potentially. These assignments need experience appropriate to the construction, machinery, operation and any ANAM, flag, class or client requirement.
