What information is needed for a Nicaragua marine survey?
Provide vessel particulars, exact port, island, lake, river or yard, survey purpose and deadline, local contact, report recipient and any haul-out, trial or specialist requirement.
Is a private survey a DGTA technical inspection?
No. The Dirección General de Transporte Acuático is Nicaragua’s maritime and port authority and administers official registration and inspection. A private survey is separate.
Does registration involve an official inspection?
Nicaragua’s published framework provides for inspection to confirm vessel safety and pollution condition during registration procedures. DGTA must confirm current vessel-specific requirements.
Can a surveyor attend the Caribbean coast or Corn Islands?
Potentially. Flights, boat transfers, accommodation, security, weather and repeat attendance should be priced separately.
Does DGTA cover lakes and rivers?
Yes. Nicaragua’s aquatic-transport framework covers maritime, lake and river navigation. Confirm the responsible local office for the site.
Are travel and haul-out costs included?
Only if listed. Flights, boats, road travel, accommodation, ramp or lift, wash, relaunch and testing can be separate.
