Find the right marine surveyor for your boat in Saudi Arabia

Request an independent marine surveyor for a yacht, boat or commercial vessel in Saudi Arabia. Matching starts with the exact Red Sea or Arabian Gulf location, vessel and assignment, facility access, haul-out or trial plan and whether the work is private or must satisfy the Transport General Authority, a classification society, insurer, lender or registry.

One request, matched to the actual job

A pre-purchase inspection is not the same assignment as a tonnage measurement or commercial-code survey. We keep the scope clear from the beginning.

How it works

A practical route from request to inspection

The platform helps structure the enquiry and introduce suitable professionals. The selected surveyor remains responsible for agreeing scope, fee and terms with you.

1

Tell us about the yacht

Share the vessel, survey purpose, location, timing and any buyer or registry deadline.

2

We review the scope

We check geography, material, size, specialist needs and whether formal acceptance matters.

3

Receive a suitable introduction

Where available, we connect you with a surveyor whose stated capability fits the assignment.

4

Appoint independently

You compare the scope and terms, resolve conflicts and instruct the professional directly.

Important distinction

Professional membership is not automatic flag approval

For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

Saudi Arabia marine survey locations

Plan the survey around Saudi Arabia’s coasts and waterways

Saudi Arabia has long, operationally distinct coastlines. Marina, commercial-port, shipyard and development-zone assignments can require different entry permissions, local sponsorship and safety arrangements, so the site and contact must be confirmed before travel.

Jeddah & central Red Sea

Jeddah · Obhur · central Red Sea marinas and yards

Provide the marina or facility, berth, security contact and vessel dimensions. Clarify whether the assignment involves private-yacht access, a commercial terminal or an external haul-out site.

Yanbu, Rabigh & northwest Red Sea

Yanbu · Rabigh · King Abdullah Economic City area

Travel and controlled-facility access need advance coordination. State whether the vessel is in a marina, industrial port, anchorage or yard and identify the responsible local representative.

Jizan & southern Red Sea

Jizan · Farasan area · southern Red Sea

Remote attendance, island transfer and weather can affect timing. Confirm safe boarding, vessel movement, lift availability and whether more than one visit is expected.

Find a surveyor in this region

Dammam, Khobar & Jubail

Dammam · Al Khobar · Jubail · Arabian Gulf

Treat Arabian Gulf attendance separately from Red Sea work. Commercial and industrial sites commonly require sponsor details, advance passes and agreed equipment entry.

Find a surveyor in this region

NEOM & emerging northwest facilities

Northwest Red Sea · project marinas · controlled development sites

Confirm the operational facility and access route rather than relying on a broad destination name. Project-specific induction, accommodation and local transport may be required.

Frequently asked questions

Before you appoint a marine surveyor

What information is needed for a Saudi Arabia marine survey quote?

Provide vessel particulars, the exact marina, port, anchorage or yard, survey purpose and deadline, local access sponsor, intended report recipient and whether haul-out, sea trial, machinery, rig or specialist testing is needed.

Can one surveyor cover both the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf?

Potentially, but these are separate travel regions. A quotation should identify the surveyor’s base, flights or road travel, accommodation, security access and whether repeated attendance is required.

Is a private yacht survey an official Saudi vessel inspection?

No. Saudi vessel-registration regulations assign inspection and technical reporting to the Transport General Authority or a classification society delegated for that purpose. A buyer’s or insurer’s condition survey does not replace that statutory route.

Can any marine surveyor complete registration or statutory work?

No. For statutory, registration, tonnage or certification work, the Transport General Authority, flag administration or accepting organisation must confirm who may perform the work and what documents are required.

How should controlled-port access be arranged?

The vessel owner, manager, broker or local agent should confirm visitor approval, identification, equipment entry, safety induction, working hours and photography restrictions before attendance.

Are travel, access and haul-out costs part of the survey fee?

Only when listed in the written quotation. Flights, road transfers, accommodation, port passes, agent support, lift, wash, relaunch, skipper, fuel and specialist testing can be separate.

Can you help with commercial or specialist Saudi assignments?

Potentially. Workboats, on-hire or off-hire condition, damage, machinery, ultrasound, repair supervision and commercial compliance require an appropriately experienced surveyor and any necessary authority acceptance.
