Pre-purchase survey
Independent condition inspection before you commit, with defects, priorities and practical next steps.
Request this survey
Request an independent marine surveyor for a yacht, boat or commercial assignment in Qatar. Matching starts with the precise marina, harbour, yard or anchorage, the vessel and survey purpose, access and haul-out arrangements and whether the report is private or must satisfy the Ministry of Transport, an insurer, lender, registry or recognized organization.
A pre-purchase inspection is not the same assignment as a tonnage measurement or commercial-code survey. We keep the scope clear from the beginning.

We check geography, material, size, specialist needs and whether formal acceptance matters.
Where available, we connect you with a surveyor whose stated capability fits the assignment.
You compare the scope and terms, resolve conflicts and instruct the professional directly.
For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

Qatar’s marinas and commercial facilities are relatively close geographically but have different access controls and lift capabilities. The exact berth, facility contact, vessel movement and intended report use should be agreed before attendance.
Confirm the operating marina or port, berth, contractor-entry procedure and working window. State if the vessel must move to another site for haul-out or machinery access.

No. A private pre-purchase, insurance or valuation survey does not replace an inspection or certificate required by the Ministry of Transport for registration, seaworthiness or another statutory purpose.
The Ministry of Transport publishes a small-craft registration service for craft under 200 tons and lists ownership, identification, insurance and other supporting requirements. Confirm current eligibility and inspection steps directly for the vessel.
For some larger-vessel registry and statutory applications, Qatar’s published services refer to certificates issued by a recognized organization. The Ministry or accepting party should confirm the applicable organization and document list before appointment.
Only when expressly stated in the quotation. Marina permission, security passes, travel, lift, wash, relaunch, skipper, fuel and specialist testing may be arranged and charged separately.
Some condition or valuation assignments can be completed afloat, but a pre-purchase scope normally benefits from inspection ashore and may include a sea trial. The limitations of any afloat-only inspection should be documented.
Potentially. Damage, machinery, ultrasound, workboat condition, repair monitoring, on-hire or off-hire and commercial compliance work require the right experience and any necessary authority or client acceptance.
Choose the country where the vessel is located, or send the exact port, marina or yard so the assignment can be reviewed.
Tell us the vessel, exact Qatari location and reason for the survey. We can help clarify access, travel and report requirements before you request an introduction.
