One request, matched to the actual job

A pre-purchase inspection is not the same assignment as a tonnage measurement or commercial-code survey. We keep the scope clear from the beginning.

How it works

A practical route from request to inspection

The platform helps structure the enquiry and introduce suitable professionals. The selected surveyor remains responsible for agreeing scope, fee and terms with you.

1

Tell us about the yacht

Share the vessel, survey purpose, location, timing and any buyer or registry deadline.

2

We review the scope

We check geography, material, size, specialist needs and whether formal acceptance matters.

3

Receive a suitable introduction

Where available, we connect you with a surveyor whose stated capability fits the assignment.

4

Appoint independently

You compare the scope and terms, resolve conflicts and instruct the professional directly.

Important distinction

Professional membership is not automatic flag approval

For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

Monaco marine survey locations

Plan the survey around Monaco’s coasts and waterways

Monaco is geographically compact but survey logistics are not. Large-yacht berth access, contractor authorisation, event restrictions, crew coordination and movement to French or Italian yards must be confirmed before appointment.

Port Hercule

Port Hercule · Yacht Club area · outer harbour

Confirm the precise berth, vessel and crew contact, contractor access, onboard induction and any event-period restrictions. Haul-out may require movement to another Riviera facility.

Port of Fontvieille

Fontvieille harbour · local berths · nearby service access

Space and service access can be constrained. State the berth, vessel dimensions, equipment to be carried onboard and whether afloat inspection alone is possible.

French Riviera yards

Cap-d’Ail · Beaulieu-sur-Mer · Nice · Antibes

A Monaco-based transaction may be inspected in France for haul-out or repair access. Confirm the actual country and facility because port permissions, travel and contracting arrangements differ.

Italian Riviera yards

Ventimiglia · Sanremo · Ligurian facilities

Italian yards can be relevant for vessels based near Monaco. Identify the yard, lift capacity, movement plan and whether separate attendance is required in Monaco and Italy.

Off-berth & sea-trial access

Monaco approaches · coastal trial areas · relocation passages

Sea trials require agreement with the master, owner or broker and must respect port and navigational controls. Confirm fuel, crew, insurance, weather and the intended trial scope.

Frequently asked questions

Before you appoint a marine surveyor

What information is needed for a Monaco yacht survey quote?

Provide the vessel name and dimensions, exact berth or yard, survey purpose, preferred dates and local access contact. Include haul-out, sea-trial and specialist-testing arrangements, report language and any insurer, lender, registry or classification requirement.

Is a private pre-purchase survey the same as a Monegasque flag inspection?

No. An independent buyer’s condition survey is separate from official registration, safety and technical formalities administered by Monaco’s Department of Maritime Affairs.

Does Monaco require a commissioning inspection before registration?

Monaco’s published registration guidance states that recreational vessels of 8 metres or more without European CE conformity certification are subject to a commissioning inspection before registration under the Monegasque flag. Confirm the current requirement directly for the vessel.

Can an overseas surveyor work aboard a yacht in Monaco?

Potentially, but access and business formalities must be checked. Monaco’s official business guidance states that a company, artisan or subcontractor not established in the Principality must request authorisation for each service or work intervention aboard vessels in Monaco’s ports.

Can the survey and haul-out happen in different countries?

Yes. A yacht may be inspected afloat in Monaco and hauled in a French or Italian yard. The quotation should identify each attendance location, travel, access, lift, wash, relaunch and any cross-border scheduling.

Are port access, haul-out and sea-trial costs included?

Only when expressly included in the written quotation. Contractor authorisation, port access, travel, lift, wash, relaunch, skipper, fuel and specialist testing can be separate.

Can you help with specialist superyacht assignments?

Potentially. Refit supervision, repair monitoring, sea trials, paint or composite investigations, ultrasound, accident investigation, marine warranty and on-hire or off-hire surveys require the right specialist and agreed access.
